As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

- HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
- ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day
Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

ATTENDED THE BUS SHELTER INAGURATION FUNCTION BY LIONS CLUB OF SIRSI
Sirsi MLA Shri Bhimanna T. Naik stated that the social service activities undertaken by Lions Clubs for the benefit of the public are truly exemplary. He was speaking after inaugurating a newly constructed modern Bus Shelter built by the Lions Club, Sirsi, at Mahasati Circle, one of the prominent junctions in Sirsi town. Following the inauguration of the Bus Shelter, the MLA participated in a special meeting organised at Lions School, Sirsi. Addressing the gathering, he said, “Mahasati Circle is one of the busiest locations in Sirsi. Every day, hundreds of commuters, school and college students wait here for buses and are often forced to stand in the scorching sun and rain. Recognising this need, the office-bearers and members of Lions Club Sirsi have constructed a well-equipped bus shelter for the convenience of the public. Such initiatives are highly commendable. When service organisations join hands with government efforts, the development of society can be achieved more effectively and at a faster pace.” The MLA congratulated Lions Club Sirsi for undertaking this meaningful project and contributing to public welfare. ATTENDED THE BREAST CANCER AWARENESS PROGRAMME BY LIONS CLUB OF SIRSI
PMJF Lion Jyothi V Bhat, DC for Breast Cancer Awareness (Kar) organised the Breast Cancer Awareness Programme in Lions Auditorium, LC of Sirsi, in association with IMA Sirsi, on 10th June 2026 for Teachers, 10th, 11th, 12th Standard Students and Lion ladies. Q/A session also held. Pamphlets regarding Breast Cancer Awareness were released. President MJF Lion Gururaj Honavar presided over the function. Club secretary MJF Lion Manohar Malmane, ZC MJF Lion Vinay Hegde, and GLT Co-Ordinator PMJF Lion Ashok Hegde were present. The resource person was Dr Shantha N Bhat, Senior Gynaecologist of Sirsi. ATTENDED THE ELECTRICIAN DAY CELEBERATION BY LIONS CLUB OF SIRSI
The Lions Club of Sirsi conducted an Electrician training program, an E-Waste Awareness Talk, and Celebrated "Electrician Day" in association with ℍ𝕒𝕧𝕖𝕝𝕝𝕤 𝕀𝕟𝕕𝕚𝕒 𝕃𝕥𝕕. E-waste awareness talk rendered by PMJF Lion Ashok Hegde with an interaction session. Training program conducted with an eminent trainer, Sri Subramanya Bhat, Deputy Manager, Havells India Ltd., focusing on new methods of electrical wiring, advanced products in the electrical field and their features. More than 60 Electricians participated and benefited from a certificate of participation, Toolskit and accidental benefit insurance worth Rs 1 lakh /-, sponsored by Havells India Ltd. Dinner was arranged for the participants, sponsored by the President, Lion Gururaj Honavar. Club Secretary Lion Manohar Malmane and Electrician Association President Laxman Jade witnessed the program. As ZC, I also participated in the function.

Suvarna Urja Yojane by Lions Club of Sirsi. Attended as ZC
As part of the District 317B flagship service initiative, Suvarna Urja, the Lions Club of Sirsi donated and installed a Solar Power Generating Unit at Suryanarayan High School, Bisalkoppa, at a project cost of ₹65,000. The solar power system will provide an uninterrupted power supply during frequent power failures, ensuring that classroom activities and students' learning are not disrupted. The project is expected to significantly benefit the school, its students, and teaching staff. The installation and dedication function was attended by the Zone Chairperson along with the President, Secretary, Treasurer, and other members of the Lions Club of Sirsi. The school management, teachers, students, and villagers expressed their sincere appreciation to the Lions Club of Sirsi for undertaking this meaningful and impactful community service project. The project reflects the Lions' commitment to sustainable development and quality education by effectively using renewable energy solutions in rural areas.
