Special Initiative: Weeks of service

As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

Service Focus Weeks

  • MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING:  October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
  • HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
  • ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day

Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

Making an Impact, One Activity at a Time!

Saplings distributed to the Locals of Karmali Village

As part of the Vanomahostav, President Lion Daniel Gonsalves distributed around 20 fruit-bearing and Medicinal Plants to the locals of the Karmali Village. The Locals and Panch members appreciated the activity.

Celebrated Vano Mahotsav Festival at Vijayanagar Society- Old Goa

Vanomahotsav Celebration continued at the Vijayanagar society, Old Goa, where Saplings were distributed to the society, and a few were planted on the 13th July 2025.

Permanent Project Maintained by LC Old Goa at the Karmali Railway Station

The garden at the Karmali Railways station, maintained by LC Old Goa, was also cleaned by the Lion members during the Vano Mahotsav Festival.

Permanent Project Bus Shelter at the Railway station was also cleaned by the members of the Lions Club of Old Goa.

As part of the cleaning drive, members of the LC Old Goa cleaned the Bus shelter, which had been left in a mess by commuters. LC Old Goa also carries out regular maintenance.

Snacks Served

As part of the Vano Mahotsav celebrations, snacks and tea were served to all the participants, including locals, railway staff, and members of the LC Old Goa.

Handed over Gas Stove to Lar Santa Margarida Old Age Home, Old Goa.

The LC Old Goa handed over a Gas Stove as requested by the Superiors of the Lar Santa Margarida Old Age Home, Old Goa.

Talk on importance of Ayurveda in daily lifestyle

Dr. Rucha, Ayurvedic Practitioner of Sub P.H.C., Diwar, delivered the talk on the importance of Ayurveda in daily lifestyle to the inmates of the Lar Santa Margarida Old Age Home as well as Lion members, and also demonstrated few Yoga exercises including Pranayam, Anulon Vilom, and Brahmari.
