As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

  • MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING:  October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
  • HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
  • ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day

Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

Attendance at the 39th Charter Nite Celebration of Majorda Cansaulim Velsao.

Seven members of the lions Club of Candolim attended the 39th Charter Celebration, Felicitation of Past District Governors and Installation of Leo Club of Majorda Cansaulim Velsao held at their Lions Club House in Velsao. Our past District Governors PMJF Lion Dominic Rodrigues and PMJF Lion Erle Brito wee felicitated on this occasion.

Eye Donation Awareness Rally

The Lions Club of Gadag Betgeri organized Activity–04: Eye Donation Awareness Rally on 14 February 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM in association with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Gadag and GIMS Gadag. The rally aimed to spread awareness among the public about the importance of eye donation and to encourage people to pledge their eyes to give sight to the visually impaired. The rally witnessed active participation from Lions members, medical professionals, and volunteers. Participants carried banners, placards, and awareness messages promoting the theme “Donate Eyes – Give Sight.” The rally passed through major streets of Gadag, attracting the attention of the public and educating them about the life-changing impact of eye donation. Members of the IMA Gadag, GIMS Gadag, and the IMA Ladies Wing also joined the campaign, strengthening the message of social responsibility and humanitarian service. The event successfully created awareness about how a single eye donation can restore vision to people suffering from corneal blindness. Through this initiative, the Lions Club of Gadag Betgeri reaffirmed its commitment to community service and health awareness by encouraging citizens to pledge for eye donation and help bring light into the lives of others. #DonateEyesGiveSight 👁️

Preparatory meet- Region meet

Preparatory meet was conducted by MJF lion Premanand Kerkar with other committee members to discuss about region 1 meet which will be held on 14th of February in Vasco da Gama. Different committee members advised suggestions to make the event successful.

Body and Organ Donation for research

On 10 February 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The program was conducted to create awareness about the importance of body and organ donation and to encourage people to pledge to save lives through donation. The event was held in memory of Sri Mahadevappa Abbigerri (Age 84), whose noble act of body donation was honored during the program. Lions members and local citizens gathered to pay their respects and appreciate the selfless contribution made for the benefit of medical science and society. Members of the Lions Club, along with community leaders and residents, participated in the program and highlighted how organ and body donation can give a “Gift of Life” to many people in need. The gathering emphasized the importance of spreading awareness about organ donation and encouraging more individuals to come forward for this humanitarian cause. Lions club of Vasco da Gama hosted district governor, 3rd zone advisory meeting. Zone chairperson, Lion Arnaldo Do Rego successfully conducted the meetin. Meeting was focused on leadership. Second vice District governor Lion MJF Sudesh Borkar was also present.
