As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING: October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day

Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

Lions club of Salcette along with Lions club of Gomant Gogal organized "manomilan" twining programme with lions club from COIMBATORE. I attended the programme along with ZC I Lion Gaurish Vernekar. members of LC Gomant Gogal, LC Salcette and members of Coimbator Entrepreneurs were present.

Paid official visit to LC Navelim. four teachers of Perpetual succor school were felicitated on the occasion of teachers day celebrations. each teacher was given a shawl, a shreefal and a potted plant. teachers appreciated the work carried out by the lions club members.

Little star eye screening camp.

Attended little star screening camp organized by LC Avedem Paroda at Immaculate conception high school at Avedem Goa. total 108 students were examined , 48 students detected with defective vision were referred for further treatment.

DRAWING COMPITION

Date: 9th September 2025 The event commenced with an engaging drawing competition for students, where creativity seamlessly blended with education. This contest provided a vibrant platform for young minds to showcase their artistic talents while reinforcing critical messages about road safety. To encourage enthusiastic participation and celebrate the importance of this cause, 10 prizes were generously sponsored by our president, Lion Mr. Ketan Amonkar. The competition not only fostered creative expression but also served as an effective medium to instill awareness about staying safe on the roads. This successful initiative was a joint effort organized by the Lions Club, Shri Shantadurga Higher Secondary School, and the Bicholim Traffic Police, demonstrating their shared commitment to educating the community and promoting safer traffic behavior among the youth.

ROSE OFFERING TO WHO FOLLOW RULES

Organized by: Lions Club of Bicholim, Shri Shantadurga Higher Secondary School, and Bicholim Traffic Police Occasion: Road Safety Week Date: 9th September 2025 In a commendable spirit of collaboration, the Lions Club of Bicholim, along with the Directorate of Transport, Shri Shantadurga Higher Secondary School, and the Bicholim Traffic Police, successfully orchestrated a series of impactful initiatives during Road Safety Week aimed at raising awareness about safe road practices. The event concluded on a positive and encouraging note with a thoughtful gesture—roses were presented to drivers and riders observed wearing seat belts and helmets. This simple yet meaningful act celebrated responsible behavior and reinforced the importance of safety on the roads. These concerted efforts highlight a shared commitment to fostering a safer environment while instilling lifelong road safety values among young learners and community members alike. The organizers express deep gratitude to all participants, including students, educators, and the Bicholim Traffic Police, whose enthusiastic support made this initiative a success. Looking ahead, there is a strong determination to continue such proactive efforts, ensuring that road safety remains a priority and that future generations grow up to be informed, responsible, and vigilant road users.

TALK ON ROAD SAFTEY

On 9th September 2025, an impactful educational session was conducted to raise awareness among students about the vital importance of road safety. This collaborative initiative was proudly organized by the Lions Club, Shri Shantadurga Higher Secondary School, and the Bicholim Traffic Police. The program featured a compelling talk by RTO Officer Mr. Pednekar, who addressed the attendees with insightful guidance on the significance of strictly adhering to traffic rules. He underscored the role of responsible road behavior in preventing accidents and safeguarding lives. Mr. Pednekar inspired students to become ambassadors of road safety within their communities, encouraging them to lead by example and actively promote traffic discipline among peers, family, and neighbors. This project exemplifies a joint effort to foster a culture of safety, responsibility, and community leadership, empowering young individuals to champion safer roads for everyone. The session was enthusiastically received and marks a meaningful step toward building conscientious citizens committed to road safety.
