As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

- MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING: October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
- HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
- ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day
Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

Teachers day celebration.
Our Region Chairperson Lion Dharmu G. Raut Desai paid his Official Visit to our Club on Friday, 19th September 2025. On this occasion Lions Club of Canacona as part of their Teacher’s Day Celebration and the Official Visit of Region Chairperson Lion Dharmu Raut Desai, function was organized at Shri Damodar Vidyalaya High School- Loliem Canacona, at 11.00 am, on 19th September where in three Dedicated Teachers of Canacona, 1. Shri Jitendra Amshekar, Head Master, Shri Damodar Vidyalaya Loliem. 2. Shri Nilesh Prabhu Desai, P.E. Teacher, Shri Nirakar Vidyalaya Mashem. 3. Mrs. Maria Archana Carvallo, Govt. Pry. School Teacher, Panyephond Canocona were felicitated at the hands of R. C. On this occasion we have invited Shri Vilas Satarkar, Head Master of Dr. K. B. Hedgewar High School, Kujira Panaji, an Eminent Educationist and this year's National Best Teachers Award Winner and whose school has given 100% S.S.C. result for consecutively 18 years, as Guest Speaker with the intention to inspire and motivate the students and the teachers community attending the function. Shri Vilas Satarkar was also felicitated on this occasion as he has been awarded The Best Teachers National Award this year, at the hand of President of India on 5th September 2025. In his address R. C. Lion Dharmu G. Raut Desai, stressed and appealed the students to avoid the use of plastic and not to litter it anywhere, instead develope the habit of collecting it where ever they find it and hand it over to the agencies of Panchayat or Municipality so that the environment will remain none polluted. Shri Vilas Satarkar in his address explained how their School transformed from struggling stage to one of the established school in the Capital city of Panaji and could achieve this success only because of Strong Team Work. He explained the Role of Parents Teachers and particularly of Students in the New Education Policy of 2020. Around 300 gathering of Students, Teachers, and other eminent personalities of the society and Members of the Club attended the function. Duration of the function was from 11.30 am to 1.45 pm, almost 2 hours and 15 minutes and was grand success. Function was followed by our activity of joy for giving where lunch was served to needy students of Boys Hostel of Shri Damodar Vidyalaya High School as a part of 5hunger activity. Along with 80 students, 30 teachers and 30 Lions members and guests joined for lunch.

Mr.BABU JUVEKAR,A LOCAL DIGNITARY,SDMC PRESIDENT,ANKOLA SHIRSTEDAR AND LIONS CLUB PRESIDENT. LN. RAMESH PARAMAR WERE PRESENT AT THE CEREMONY.SENIOR LN. MEMBER MAHANTESH REVADI, SECRETARY K.M GOWDA AND LN.DR.KARUNAKAR NAIK SPOKE. Dr.VINAYAK JUVEKAR, WHO IS CURRENTLY A RESEARCH STUDENT IN THE US,DONATED TWO COMPUTERS TO THE SCHOOL .Mr. BABA JUVEKAR WAS FELICIATED ON THIS OCCASION.THE SCHOOL TEACHERS EXPRESSED THEIR GRATITUDE.

PARTICIPATED IN DLLI 2025 AT HUBBALLI
I had the privilege of participating in the Lions District 317B DLLI Programme held at Hotel Ritz, Hubli, on 13th and 14th September 2025. The two-day learning session was truly a wonderful experience, filled with rich insights and meaningful interactions. The faculty members were highly knowledgeable and delivered their sessions with great clarity and depth. The programme covered essential aspects of leadership, effective communication, planning, delegation, and LCIF matters. Each session was engaging and thought-provoking, adding immense value to our journey as Lions. I am honoured to have been judged as the Best Participant of the programme, and it was a proud moment when our District Governor presented me with the Lions International President’s Pin. This training programme has been a highly useful platform for grooming Lions to become effective leaders in their clubs and beyond. It was indeed an inspiring and enriching experience.

ENVIRONMET DAY CELBRATION
On 18-09-2025, "Environment Day" was celebrated by planting mango trees in the memory of folklorists Dr.N.R. Nayak and Shanti Nayak On the Belekeri beach under the auspices of Lions Club Ankola Karavali and Souharda Sahakari Limited Belekeri. On this occasion, Ln.MJF.Ravindra H.Nayak.RDC-Environment, Ln.MJF.Devanand Gaonkar.Secretry Ln. K.M. Gowda and Ln.Sadanand Shetty , Ln.Keshavanand Nayak were present.Village dignitaries and Lions members were present.

ATTENDED THE DLLI TRAINING PROGRAM AT HUBLI
THE DLLI TRAINING PROGRAM WAS HELD AT THE HOTEL RITZ RESORT, HUBLI, ON THE 13TH & 14TH SEPTEMBER, 2025. IT WAS ATTENDED BY 45 LION MEMBERS IN ALL. THE COURSE CONTENTS WERE EXCELLENT BACKED BY EXCELLENT TRAINERS FROM THE LIONS CLUB INTERNATIONAL. THE DG, PMJF, JAIAMOL NAIK WAS PRESENT ALONG WITH THE DCS, DCT, DLLI CO-ORDINATOR, AND A GALAXY OF PERSONALITIES. I BENEFITTED FROM THE PROGRAM.

Peace poster contest
12 Sept. 2025: Finding in it and opportunity for protecting it as a meaningful SERVICE FOR CHILDREN, which is my portfolio in the District Cabinet, l promoted and sponsored the PEACE POSTER CONTEST of Lions Club of Panjim, held in my privately owned Greenlawn School, Neura, Goa. 29 Children, in the age group of 11 to 13 years, from Azmane High School ( Neura )took part. Beside home club members, District Chairperson for Peace Poster, MJF Lion Agnelo da Silva and his spouse DC Lion Maria da Silva visited the activity and appreciated the same. Inauguration of Orthopaedic Bank
On the occasion of the Official Visit of the District Governor PMJF Lion JaiAmol Naik, the Lions Club of Candolim Inaugurated a new permanent project, an Orthopaedic Bank at the Lions club house in Candolim. The orthopaedic bank equipped with wheelchairs, crutches, fowler beds, air mattresses, a mobile commode, oxygen concentrator, a walker etc aims to provide the community of Candolim essential orthopaedic equipment for recovery of patients, especially post surgery.
