Special Initiative: Weeks of service

As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

Service Focus Weeks

  • MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING:  October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
  • HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
  • ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day

Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION AND RC VISIT

Teachers day celebration function was organized by L. C. Mapuca on 12th September, 2025. Eminent teachers and Print Media person were Felicitated. It was an Official visit bu Region Chairperson Lion Murtaza Matheranwala to our Club.

PRINTER DONATION TO DAYANAND BANDODKAR MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL,VEREM

LIons Club Of Mapuca donated a Printer to Dayanand Bandodkar Memorial High School, verm. Six members of our club were present. Clubs Donation Service activity as the school needed a printer for their administrative use.

Cleanness Drive.

CLEANNESS DRIVE On 24th September 2025. The Lions Club of Canacona along with Community Health Centre, canacona and Canacona Municipal Council organize Cleanness Drive under Seva Pakavada of the Prime Minister Birthday, surrounding area of Community Health Centre, Canacona, on 24th September 2025. The Cleanness drive was started morning 11.00 am to 1.00 pm. Total 10 Lions Member and 5 Leo members took part of this drive and clean all the surrounding area.

Organising All Goa School Level Ghumat Arti Competition

Our club organised All Goa School Level Ghumat Arti Competition in association with Shri. Durgadevi Kala and Sanskritik Mandal, Quepem. Total 06 Schools participated and prizes were given to the winners at the hands of our Chief Guest Shri. Damodar Naik, Goa State BJP President. and our President sponsored the prizes worth Rs. 3,000/-, Rs. 2000/- and Rs. 1,000/- respectively. He also donated Rs. 20,000/- on cash. District Chairperson for Goan Festival PMJF Lion Joquim Gonsalves was also invited for the event..

Blood Donation Camp on 26th September 2025 at PHC Corlim

The Lions Club Old Goa, in collaboration with Lions Club of Panjim Greater and in association with PHC Corlim, organized a Blood Donation Camp on 26th September 2025 at PHC Corlim. The camp received an encouraging response, with 38 individuals stepping forward to donate. A total of 29 units of blood were collected, which will go a long way in supporting patients in need. Speaking on the occasion, the organizers expressed their gratitude to PHC Corlim and all the donors for their valuable contribution towards this life-saving cause. District Ambassador for Mission 1.5 MJF Lion Sunil Mevada was the Project chairperson. ZC MJF Lion Daniel Kurian, President of both the Club, were present during the function.

Attended the Teachers’ Day Celebration on 22nd September 2025 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, organized by Lions International District 317-B.

The Lions International District 317-B celebrated Teachers’ Day on 22nd September 2025 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, with great enthusiasm and respect for the teaching fraternity. On this occasion, Teacher Vrundavan Babaji Sawant of Old Goa Educational Institute, Old Goa, nominated by the Lions Club of Old Goa, was felicitated in recognition of his dedicated service in the field of education. The felicitation was carried out at the hands of District Governor PMJF Lion JaiAmol Naik, accompanied by the First Lady of the District and District Cabinet Secretary PMJF Lion Dr. Kirti Naik. District Ambassador for Mission 1.5, MJF Lion Sunil Mevada, along with several distinguished Lions members from across the District, were present.
