As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.
Service Focus Weeks
- MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING: October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
- HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
- ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day
Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

Fancy Dress and Record Dance Competition
Lions club of Sankhali held its yearly event i.e organised Fancy dress and record dance competition at Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal Sankhali on 1st sept 2025. Event was graced by eminent juries Mr Zilu Gaonkar, retired teacher, writer and director along with Miss Mallika shet dessai, RJ and actor. There were 35 participants in senior and junior category. Prizes in all categories were awarded. Also 1st place winners in all categories has been awarded silver medal at the hands of Honorable CM Dr. Pramod Sawant . 11 Lion members attended the program. Also refreshment was given to the participants. Providing a platform for showcasing ones talent is much needed today. With this objective in mind Lions club of Sankhali organises this event yearly giving opportunity to young talents to showcase their talents in various forms .

Women's Forum (Women's Empowerment & progress and service activities of international Lions Club.
Today(08.09.2025), Lions Club of Jamkhandi and BLDE College jointly organised a program under the Women's Forum (Women's Empowerment), in BLDE College (LH-1) at 10:00 a.m It was inaugurated by smt. Dr. Dakshayani S Nirani and today's chief guest Smt Rashmi Desai spoke regarding students future, Indian Culture and Women Empowerment. Our Club President Ln.Dr. M.P. Tanappagol spoke about the progress and service activities of international Lions Club. Around 150 students participated in this program.

Attended Teachers day celebration at GPS Dulapi
Lions Club of Old Goa attended the Teachers’ Day celebration held on 6th September 2025 at GPS Dulapi. Lion President Daniel Gonsalves graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The function was attended by District Ambassador for Mission 1.5, MJF Lion Sunil Mevada; Zone Chairperson MJF Lion Daniel Kurian; Lion Madhav Vernekar; Lion Pradeep Vernekar; Retired Headmistress Mrs. Geeta Rane; along with the present Headmistress, teachers, and parents. The students presented a beautiful cultural program, which included songs and performances. A singing competition was also organized, and Lion President Daniel Gonsalves felicitated the winners. The program concluded with refreshments served to all students, participants, and guests.

This noble contribution was made possible through the efforts of District Ambassador for Mission 1.5, MJF Lion Sunil Mevada. The Club continues to uphold the spirit of service by empowering youth and supporting education in the community.
