As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

- MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING: October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
- HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
- ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day
Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

Annadan at Govt Primary school, Bethora Ponda
Lions Club of Ponda City Organised Annadan at Govt Primary school, Bethora Ponda, sponsored by Lion Lady Bindiya Kamat Dhakankar on Monday 22nd September 2025 at 10.30 am* Home cooked nutritious meals were served to 25 Children.

Visit to Ma Asro Ghar
Under Twining Programme, Lions Club of Ponda City visited Ma Asro Ghar, a refuge for destitute, along with RC Ln Vishwambhar Kenkre and members of Lions Club of Nuvem Verna, Lions Club of Margao-Ravanfond and Lions Club of Alem De Margao. Our Club donated a cheque of Rs 15000/- to Ma Asro Ghar. 10,000 was contributed by Ln MJF Kiran Naik and Lion Shanta Naik 5000 was raised by Ln Sandeep Tendulkar from a Donor. Ln Sadguru Govekar donated Vegetables for the inmates. Snacks and soft drinks were given to the inmates of the Maa asro ghar sponsored by Lion Mangaldas. Ln Archana and Ln Narasinha donated 1000/- each which was utilised to purchase the Portal Music System donated through contributions from all the clubs. Birthday of the Lion members whose birthdays falls in the month of September was celebrated by cutting Cake. Coincidentally today was Birthday of Our Lion Member Lion Mangaldas Naik. RC Vishwambhar Kenkre pledged to renovate the Courtyard of Ma Asro Ghar by replacing the existing structure with metal roofing and Covering the ground with tiles or pavers. Little Stars Vision Screening Camp
Lions club of Ponda City conducted Eye Screening Camp for students of S. S. Samitiās High School at Dhavali Ponda in collaboration with Navemarg Foundation on 12 September 2025. 228 Students from Pre Primary and Primary section of the school were screened during the camp. 63 Students referred for Eye Check by Ophthalmologists.

Teachers Day Celebration
Lions Club of Ponda City celebrated the Teachers Day Celebration on 9 September 2025 in the presence of Region Chairperson Ln Vishwambhar Kenkre as Chief Guest. Retired Principle Gulab Borkar and Sushma Gaunekar were felicitated at the hands of RC. Ln Anand Nevrekar and Ln Shanta Naik Introduced the felicities. The felicity teachers expressed the views and gratitude on the occasion.

Region Chairperson Visit
Our club hosted the Region Chairperson Ln Vishwambhar Kenkre on 09 September 2025 at our club house at Ponda President Lion Archana Tendulkar welcomed the Region Chairperson. Lion MJF Uma Gaitonde Introduced the RC. Lion MJF Diwakar Shinkre narrated the Glorious and Eventful Journey of the Club since its installation in 1992-93. Secretary, Lion Narasinha Kamat Dhakankar read the report of the activities conducted from the start of the Lionistic year till date. RC appreciated the activities of the club and gave suggestions for planning the future activities.
