As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

  • MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING:  October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
  • HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
  • ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day

Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

Attended Charter Night and District Governor Visit of Lions Club of Porvorim

Three members of Lions Club of Sankhali, GMTc MJF Ln Sushant Pokle, President Ln Jyotsna Pokle, and MJF Ln Vinod Gadgil attended Charter Nite and District Governor Visit of Lions Club of Porvorim on 3rd April 2026 at Lions Medical Centre, Lions Club of Porvorim, Krantinagar Porvorim.

Participating in MJFs meet

On 24th April 2026, MJF Lion Rama and MJF Lion Manorama attended the MJFs Meeting held at Porvorim. Their participation in the meeting reflected the club’s active involvement and commitment towards district-level initiatives and leadership engagement.

Offial DG visit to the club

On 3rd April 2026, our club had the privilege of hosting the official visit of the District Governor, along with the First District Lady PMJF Lion Jaiamol Naik and Lady Lion Kirti Naik, at Laxmi Empires, Margao. The meeting was conducted successfully with enthusiastic participation from all members. During the session, the District Governor shared valuable insights on leadership, service initiatives, and the future vision of the organization. A key highlight of the event was the induction of two new members into the club, which was formally carried out by the District Governor, marking a significant step towards strengthening our membership. Additionally, a constructive discussion was held on the growth and development of the club, focusing on strategies to enhance membership and increase community impact. The visit proved to be highly motivating and provided clear direction for the club’s future endeavors, concluding on a positive and inspiring note

E Waste collection drive during Environment Week

On 23rd April 2026, our club actively participated in an e-waste collection drive organized on the occasion of Environmental Week celebration. Members contributed by collecting electronic waste from various sources, promoting awareness about responsible disposal and environmental conservation. The collected e-waste was subsequently handed over to the Zone Chairperson’s initiative, where it was efficiently transported through a designated vehicle for proper recycling and disposal. The activity reflected the club’s commitment towards sustainable practices and environmental responsibility.

Bhagwad Gita Shloka Coaching & Competition.

Our Club in association with Keo Club of Belgaum, ISKCON & Shree Kapileshwar Devasthan Trust inaugurated the Bhagwad Gita Shloka training & Competition for children between 6 and 25. On 1st day about 35 children participated. ISKCON preachers gave the importance of 1st two sholkas both in Kannad & Marathi. It started at 6.30am & ended at 8.30am. It was followed by serving of breakfast & milk to all children, parents, lion participants. Lion Somshekhar Chonnad is the Cjairperson of the event. The other Shlokas will be taken up during follow 4 Sundays of May 2026. On 7th Junea grand finale will be held & prizes will be distributed. The activity was given wide publicity in various newspapers and media houses.
