Special Initiative: Weeks of service

As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

Service Focus Weeks

  • MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING:  October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
  • HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
  • ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day

Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

On the occasion of the 40th National Eye Donation Fortnight, a noble initiative “OPERATION PUNARJYOTHI – Walk for Sight” was organized on Monday, 25th August 2025, at 9:00 AM

On the occasion of the 40th National Eye Donation Fortnight, a noble initiative “OPERATION PUNARJYOTHI – Walk for Sight” was organized on Monday, 25th August 2025, at 9:00 AM, in collaboration with M. M. Joshi Eye Institute, SGM Eye Bank, and all the Lions Clubs of Hubli Region (Lions Club of Hubli, Lions Club of Hubli City, Lions Club of Hubli Centinnel, and Lions Club of Hubli Pearls). The walk commenced from KMRIC Hubli and concluded at M. M. Joshi Eye Institute, Hubli. It was a wonderful Joint Lions Activity, and we had a great time participating and supporting this noble cause. Tetra Pack Juices were distributed to the 500 Participants

We, the members of Lions Club of Hubli City, attended the LCIF Workshop on Grants held yesterday, Sunday, 24th August 2025, at Masonic Lodge, Belgaum. It was a very knowledgeable seminar that gave us valuable insights on preparing project reports to apply for grants, along with understanding the various rules and regulations related to them. Hunger Relief

The Lions Club of Canacona and Leos Club of Canacona along with Z. C. visited Mataji Mandir, the boys hostel, wherein Club provided lunch as a part of social activity under our another permanent Project *Joy of Giving* where 75 students and 10 working staff and management were benefited. This lunch was sponsored by Secretary Lion Ulhas Phal. 15 Lions and Leo members were present and spend 3 hours with the students.

Zone Chairperson Mandatory Visit

*Lions Club of Canacona* Our Zone Chairperson Lion Gourish Vernekar, paid his mandatory visit to our Lions Club of Canacona on Sunday, 24th August. Thereon B.O.D. Meeting was held at 10.30 am in Club House. President welcomed the Zone Chairperson and the Lions and Leos attending the function. Secretary Lion Ulhas Phal Dessai presented the report of the activities done till date and a copy of the report was handed over to the Z. C. Treasurer Lion Dilkhush Shet also presented his report. During this Z. C.'s mandatory visit Lions Club of Canacona added some more equipment’s such as two walkers, two walking sticks and two comod chairs to our project of orthopedic bank which is already serving to the needy patients, at the hands of our ZC Gourish Vernekar. Zone Chairperson Lion Gourish Vernekar during his address stressed on to undertake the agenda given by International President and District Governor, specially membership growth, and to avail schemes for Serving the Community. 20 Lions and Leo Members were present for the function, spend 3 hours.
