As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

Service Focus Weeks

  • MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING:  October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
  • HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
  • ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day

Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

The District Governor paid his Official visit to the Lions Club of Candolim. On the day of his Official visit he was taken to see the permanent projects: The Lions Club house, the Lion's Bus Shelter and the Candolim Eye Clinic.

Folk Dance Competition

On 20th September 2025, the 21st All Goa Indian Folk Dance Mahotsav for Special Children was organized by the Gujarati Samaj Educational Trust, Special School, in association with the Directorate of Art and Culture, at the Gujarati Samaj School Hall, Margao. The program was graced by eminent dignitaries and witnessed enthusiastic participation from special children across the state. Representing the Lions Club of Margao Saheli, MJF Lion Rama Mehta actively contributed by sponsoring prizes and personally distributing them during the prize distribution ceremony, thereby adding warmth and encouragement to the memorable occasion.

District Teachers Day Celebrations

On 22nd September 2025, the Lions Club of Margao Saheli participated in the Teachers’ Felicitation Program organized at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. Our club had the honour of nominating Mrs. Meeta Bandekar, Principal of Shree Damodar Higher Secondary School of Science, for her dedicated service in the field of education. She was felicitated at the hands of the District leadership in the presence of Lions members and distinguished guests, making it a proud moment for our club.

Serving the Hungry

On 12th September 2025, MJF Lion Rama Mehta carried out a noble service activity by distributing food in the slum areas, reaching out to 25 individuals in need. This initiative reflected the true spirit of Lions, bringing joy and support to the underprivileged community.

ZC Visit and Teachers Day Celebrations

On 14th September 2025, the Lions Club of Margao Saheli organized the Zone Chairperson’s official visit in conjunction with a Teachers’ Day celebration. As part of the program, two distinguished teachers were felicitated for their valuable contributions to education and sports – Mrs. Chanda Prabhugaunkar, retired school teacher, and Mrs. Manali Shevde, professional Tennis Coach. The honours were presented by our Zone Chairperson, Lion Melba Monteiro, making the occasion both memorable and meaningful.
