Special Initiative: Weeks of service
As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.
Service Focus Weeks
- MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING: October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
- HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
- ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day
Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

Community Service to Matruchaya Balika Vadhu Kendra @ Margao
The Lions Club of Margao organized a heartfelt donation drive to support the inmates of Balika Vadhu Kendra, Matruchaya, Margao. In keeping with the club’s commitment to community welfare and upliftment, essential items were thoughtfully collected and handed over to the center. The donation included a range of daily-use and educational supplies such as soaps, food items, books, stationery, and hygiene products, aimed at improving the living conditions and learning environment for the girls residing at the Kendra. Club members personally visited the center to interact with the inmates and staff, fostering a spirit of compassion and solidarity. This initiative not only addressed immediate material needs but also reinforced the Lions Club’s dedication to nurturing dignity, education, and well-being among underprivileged children. The staff at Matruchaya expressed deep gratitude for the timely support, acknowledging the club’s ongoing role in community service. Such acts of kindness reflect the Lions motto “We Serve” and inspire continued efforts toward inclusive growth and care.
