Special Initiative: Weeks of service

As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

Service Focus Weeks

  • MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING:  October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
  • HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
  • ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day

Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

The Lions Club of Margao hosted a meaningful event to welcome the Zone Chairperson and honor four retired teachers for their outstanding service to education at Senior Citizen Recreation Center of Lion Club of Margao @ Pada Margao. Held in Margao, the gathering reflected the club’s dedication to community recognition and service. The Zone Chairperson was warmly received by club members and presented with a bouquet and memento. In their address, they praised the club’s consistent efforts in health camps, youth outreach, and educational initiatives, encouraging members to continue their impactful work. A special segment of the program was dedicated to the felicitation of four retired teachers, each recognized for their decades of commitment to shaping young minds. The honorees were introduced with brief citations, followed by the presentation of shawls, floral tributes, and commemorative plaques. Their contributions were celebrated through heartfelt speeches, highlighting the lasting impact of their guidance.
