Special Initiative: Weeks of service
As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.
Service Focus Weeks
- MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING: October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
- HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
- ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day
Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

Lions Club Sirsi, in its continued endeavor towards environmental protection, successfully implemented a Rainwater Harvesting Project at the Government Primary School, Mattigar village, located about 15 km from Sirsi. Through this initiative, rainwater will be percolated into the earth, thereby enhancing the underground water level and providing a valuable source of water during the summer season. Truly an eco-friendly and sustainable project, it was completed at a cost of approximately ₹45,000. I, as Zone Chairperson, along with RC Lion Rajesh Salehittal, had the privilege of inaugurating the project. A public function was later held in the school hall, where Lion Shrikant Hegde delivered an insightful lecture on the importance of rainwater harvesting.
