These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

BOD for Month of October 2025
On 29th October 2025, Lions Club of Margao held its Board of Directors (BOD) meeting at Hotel Woodlands, Margao. The agenda included reviewing administrative accounts, planning upcoming service activities, and discussing future club events. Members actively participated in shaping the club’s roadmap with enthusiasm and clarity. The evening also featured a warm celebration of October-born members with a cheerful cake-cutting ceremony. Laughter, camaraderie, and shared purpose marked the fellowship that followed over dinner. The gathering reflected the club’s spirit of service, unity, and appreciation, reinforcing bonds while aligning on meaningful goals for the months ahead.

Hunger Drive on World Food Day @ 2 Schools - Govt Primary School at Fatorda and Ambaji
On 16th October 2025, Lions Club of Margao celebrated World Food Day with compassion and purpose at the Government Primary Schools in Fatorda and Ambaji, Margao. These schools serve children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, making the initiative especially meaningful. Club members organized a nutritious food distribution drive, offering wholesome meals, fruits, and snacks to over 50 students across both locations. The event aimed to raise awareness about food security and the importance of balanced nutrition in early childhood development. Volunteers engaged with the children through interactive sessions on healthy eating and hygiene, fostering joy and learning. The initiative reflected the Lions Club’s enduring commitment to community upliftment and child welfare. Teachers and staff appreciated the thoughtful gesture, which brought smiles and nourishment to young lives. By aligning with the global theme of World Food Day, the club reinforced its mission to fight hunger and promote dignity through service.

Inauguration of Mental Health Week at MES college by MJF Lion Krishnaji Bagali Zone Chairperson 2025-26 Region 3 Zone 2
On 4th October 2025, Lions Club of Margao proudly participated in the inauguration of Mental Health Week at MES College, Vasco. The event was graced by a distinguished club member holding the post of Zone Chairperson, who was invited to launch the week-long initiative. Addressing a packed auditorium of students and faculty. His spoke to student one on one which emphasized the importance of self-awareness, peer support, and seeking timely help, while also highlighting the role of educational institutions in fostering a safe and inclusive environment. Drawing from real-life examples and Lions Club’s community outreach, the speech resonated deeply with the young audience. The college appreciated the club’s proactive engagement in youth wellness, and the session set a thoughtful tone for the week’s activities. The event reinforced Lions Club’s commitment to mental health advocacy and student empowerment.

Donation of Groceries & Food Items for Shanti Avedna Sadan, Loutulim, South Goa
On 2nd October 2025, commemorating Gandhi Jayanti, Lions Club of Margao carried out a heartfelt donation drive at Shanti Avedan Sadan, Loutulim, South Goa. The club generously contributed essential grocery and food items to support the residents and staff of the center, which cares for the elderly and destitute. This act of kindness reflects the club’s ongoing commitment to community welfare and compassion. Members personally delivered the provisions, engaging warmly with the center’s caretakers and residents. The initiative not only met immediate nutritional needs but also reinforced the spirit of service and solidarity on a day of national significance. Donation was done by Lion Dr Satish Haldonkar

DONATED 25 BABY CHAIRS TO ANGANAVADI (GOVERNMENT BABY SITTING) SCHOOL AT MANAJAVALLI RURAL AREA OF SIRSI. INVOLVING LIONS CLUB OF YELLAPUR TOWN. LIONS CLUB YELLAPUR TOWN PRESEDINT LION SHESHAGIRI PRABHU GAVE THE NECESSITY REQUIREMENTS, AND OUR CLUB ACCEPTED THE SERVICE AND SUPPLIED 15 BABY CHAIRS ACCORDINGLY. THESE CHAIRS WERE SPONSORED BY PMJF LION ASHOK HEGDE. LIONS CLUB YELLAPUR TOWN ALSO DONATED 10 CHAIRS SEPERATELY.
