Special Initiative: Weeks of service

As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

Service Focus Weeks

  • MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING:  October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
  • HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
  • ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day

Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

Celebrating Senior Citizens

The Lions Club of Candolim felicitated a distinguished Konkani stage artist 84 year old Mrs Diana Fernandes from Saipem, Candolim. She was honoured at her home in recognition of her outstanding and yeoman service to the world of Tiatr, the traditional Konkani musical theatre of Goa. Ever since the age of seven the artist has dedicated herself wholeheartedly to this field, captivating audiences through her exceptional acting, singing, and stage performances. Her commitment, passion, and perseverance have earned her immense respect within the Tiatr fraternity and among Konkani-speaking communities. The Lions Club of Candolim believes that honoring elders combats ageism and ensures that elderly individuals do not face isolation, promoting active, independent, and fulfilling lives.
